Warriors Den Family

Personally, for me, the martial arts changed my life and gave me so much, I decided that I wanted to give back and help others change their lives as well. So I dedicated many years of my life to the martial arts, not so much as to be the best
fighter, but to be the best teacher I could be. Being able to convey a technique or a movement so that others can understand is a gift, a gift I wish to share with others. This is why I opened the Warriors Den, to bring awareness, security, and unity to our community.

After many years of teaching small, hand-picked groups in secluded locations, I’ve decided it’s time for a change. Until now, I never believed the public was ready for this martial art. However, with the way the world is today – where innocent people are often targeted without reason or for the sake of someone’s social media – I realized that there’s no better time than now to give everyone the opportunity to learn.

Throughout my years of teaching, I primarily taught older teen boys and men as a rule. I was confident they could handle the rigorous training methods. Though a few women had successfully participated, it wasn’t common, and I never openly promoted it. I often pondered if going public would even be possible – could a woman or child for that matter, manage this level of combat training? It was then that one of my son’s pointed out, “Isn’t Shui Yi Do supposed to adapt to the individual?” There are two principles I stand by: I always admit when I’m wrong, and I love being proven wrong by students who exceed my expectations. Today I’m proud to say the boys, girls, and women who have taken on this challenge have shown, without question, that they deserve to wear the same emblem and stand strong as Warriors alongside the men.

Truth be told, I’m the luckiest man on the planet. I have a wonderful wife who has supported me every step of the way, from finding this amazing location to handling purchases of equipment, billing, and bookkeeping. My sons also play a crucial role, assisting with class activities like strength training and ground fighting. Together, we work as a cohesive unit, ensuring everything runs smoothly for our entire Warrior’s Den MMA family.

The Warriors Den MMA is a family-owned and operated business offering a wide range of courses designed to keep every warrior in top shape. During these challenging times, first a pandemic and now a less desirable economy, many of us have been forced to remain closer to home and be less active than we would like. The Den provides the perfect solution, with classes in mixed martial arts, Tai Chi, women’s self-defense, cardio workouts, and personal training. The Warrior’s Den MMA welcomes practitioners of all ages, offering courses for toddlers as young as two and for seniors alike. Are you ready to join our Warrior’s Den family?
