Charlie has displayed a wide range of talents over the years, excelling as an artist, musician, collectable entreprenueur, comedian, and bonsai tree enthusiast. During his elementary and junior high school years, Charlie raced go-karts and played little league baseball. During high school, he ran track and made the local newspaper. But his real passion was for martial arts in which he started at the age of 13. By 18 he was instructing others, then by the age of 21, he was teaching mixed martial art classes, privatly in San Gabriel, California, in 1979, (see History.)

He continued his practice in Pomona, California where he also began training in bodybuilding, and soon integrating fitness into his own martial arts. Now residing in Rancho Cucamonga, Charlie opened his first public studio, the Warriors Den in Upland California, until 2023, then moved the studio to Rancho Cucamonga, where he curently teaches his unique mix martial art to students of all ages.
